FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What bottles and cans can be redeemed through the program?

Most beverage bottles, cans made of glass, plastic, aluminium, steel, or liquid paperboard (cartons) between 150ml and 3 litres can be recycled and are eligible for rebates through the Recycle Rumble.

What bottles and cans can’t be redeemed?

There are some exclusions around bottles and cans, they include:

- Containers that were used for plain milk.

- Cordial or syrup containers.

- Concentrated or undiluted cordial or syrup containers.

- Wine and spirits bottles.

- Containers that are 1 litre or larger that contained flavoured milk, pure fruit or vegetable juice, cask wine or cask water.

How much can my school earn from the Recycle Rumble?

Schools can develop a strong, consistent income stream from partaking in the challenge. The more students recycle the more your school can earn! Some estimates suggest Australians use over 17 billion bottles or cans every year. There is no hidden costs in starting and partaking in the challenge at your school. For perspective, if a school of 1000 students had the average student bring in 10 cans a week, that school would be earning a cash rebate on 10,000 cans a week! The Recycle Rumble is suitable for schools of all sizes.

How often does my school have their bottles and cans collected? How often does my school receive a rebate?

We work with schools directly to work out a frequency which works best for their school in regard to both collection and rebate.

Is there anything our school needs to supply to partake in the challenge?

Nothing! We provide everything you need to get started!

What prizes can students win throughout the challenge?

Prizes may differ region to region, as we accommodate those community needs in their particular region. To discuss prizes in your region, please contact us using the contact us page.
